Pistachio Ice cream
Ingredients
4 cups full fat milk (1 litre)room temperature or cold
3 cups granulated sugar
6 1/2 tbsp pistachio custard powder
Method
Take 4 tbsps of milk or water and mix the custard powder into a paste. Add it to the milk and the sugar also. Mix well and put on medium heat. Stir continuosly . When it begins to thicken switch off the flame. You want a thin custard not thick. Set aside and allow to cool. Chill for 5 -6 hours or overnight.
1 litre of whipping cream
1/2 cup chopped pistachio
Add the whipping cream to theChilled custard and mix until incooperated. Strain through a sieve so that there is no kind of lump in it. Mix in the pistachios andput to churn. Allow to churn for 40 -45 mins. If your machine stops before it then its fine. Mine did not so i remove the ice-cream at 45 mins and it was done. Remove to a container and allow to chill overnight.
