Mince and potatoes 


Ingredients

500g mutton mince washed and drained well

1/4 cup oil 

1 tsp cumin seeds

2 bay leaves

1 cinnamon stick

2 green chillies slit

2  medium onions finely chopped 

1 sprig of curry leaves 

2 tblsp butter 


2 tsp ginger and garlic paste 

1 tsp green chillie paste (optional) 

1 tsp kashmiri chillie powder 

1 tsp chillie powder

1 tsp crushed chillie 

1/2 tsp tumeric powder 

1 tsp cumin powder 

1 tsp corriander powder 

1 1/2 tsp salt 


3 medium tomatoes grated

1 tsp sugar 

1 tsp lemon juice 

2 tblsp tomato paste 

2 potatoes cut in small pieces 


Method 

Heat oil. Add cumin seeds, bay leaves and cinnamon stick. 

Allow to sizzle. 

Add onions, green chillies, curry leaves and butter. 

Fry till golden. 

Add ginger and garlic paste, green chillie paste and all the spices. 

Braise for a minute on low heat. 

Add mince , cook on high heat for 10 minutes. 

Add tomatoes, tomato paste, lemon juice, sugar, potatoes and 1 cup boiling water. 

Cook till potatoes are soft and oil comes up. 

Lastly add 1 tsp garam masala and 1 tsp kasoori methi (dried fenugreek). 

Simmer for 5 minutes. 

Garnish with corriander .
